My Predictions:
Roman Reigns def. Brock Lesnar to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Estimated Match Rating: ***3/4 Estimated Match Time: 15-20 mins My Odds: 50/50 even It's no secret that I am a big Roman Reigns supporter. Always have been and always will be. He is very explosive and electric in the ring that he is just naturally entertaining to me. Not to mention his badass way of kicking ass and taking names. However, WWE failed to capitalize with Reigns via TERRIBLE BOOKING. The Royal Rumble dug a huge hole that WWE has managed to climb out of a little week by week because now Roman is over with the audience whether it's in a good way or a bad way. Some hate him, most love him but he will be just fine and I believe that (pun intended). Now as for this upcoming match with Brock Lesnar (my second favorite wrestler): it wont be an instant classic, it wont be a technical masterpiece, but what it will be is a war! These two are going to put on one of the most physical matches ever seen and it will be a fun way to end the night in my opinion. Don't write this off just because of questionable booking because it has potential to be very, very good. The build has been simple and effective, Reigns is the guy who CAN take down the seemingly unstoppable Lesnar but WILL he be able to slay the beast on the grandest stage of them all? While the booking of the feud has not been strong whatsoever (especially that awful ended to the go-home edition of Raw) I am still excited to see if my man Roman Reigns will step up to the plate. Plus Brock Lesnar matches are always very fun. As for the winner it could go either way with Brock resigning. Will they keep the title on Brock for another year and have someone else step up to the plate at Wrestlemania 32? That is a great possibility but I'm going to go with my man Roman Reigns to take the title. Either result will make sense and I will be fine with it. Keep an eye out for Seth Rollins here too! This is the match I'm most looking forward to because of the unpredictability to it. Sting def. Triple H Estimated Match Rating: **** Estimated Match Rating: 15 mins My Odds: 80/20 Sting Just seeing Sting in a WWE ring will make this match a classic, no doubt. There is also no doubt that Sting will come out victorious, no other way around it. So what I suggest us fans do, sit back and watch one of the most iconic superstars of all time do his thing in a WWE ring in what could possibly be his first and only time. The build to this match has been more hype than the other matches on the card so it should align the stars to be a great match with a great atmosphere. Sting wins. Bray Wyatt def. Undertaker Estimated Match Rating: ***1/2 Estimated Match Time: 15 mins My Odds: 55/45 Wyatt Yes I am calling it, The Undertaker loses two years in a row at Wrestlemania. He has to pass the torch to the man who is in fact the new face of fear in Bray Wyatt as his going out gift. Not only with this loss will he put Wyatt over the top, in a way last year's loss to Lesnar is going to put Reigns over the top in the form of Lesnar taking a pinfall from him. Undertaker's streak was probably the best story ever told by WWE and it will be used to put over the next 2 biggest stars in this business. If that isn't poetic justice then I don't know what is. There is still a very good shot Taker wins this one as it's hard to see him losing twice in a row but I'm going with the new face of fear in this one. John Cena def. Rusev to win the United States Championship Estimated Match Rating: ***1/2 Estimated Match Time: 15 mins My Odds: 70/30 Cena Losing to Cena at Wrestlemania will not hurt Rusev at all in the grand scheme of things and will give a HUGE boost to the United States Championship. Rusev does have a chance of retaining his title and undefeated streak here but I see the 15 time WWE Champion walking out with a less familiar gold around his waist. Their Fast Lane matchup was pretty good but it seemed like they were holding back for this match so I'm coming into this with high hopes! I think they will deliver. Cena wins. Randy Orton def. Seth Rollins Estimated Match Rating: **** Estimated Match Time: 15 mins My Odds: 50/50 even This is a match I am looking forward to for many reasons. 1. I have NO IDEA who is going to come out on top. Not a clue. 2. These are two of, if not the best in-ring workers in all of WWE so we are almost guaranteed a great match. 3. The build to this has been the best out of any of the other matches on the card as well and it seems as if they are putting a lot of effort into this. 4. They are two of my top ten favorite supertars at the moment. 5. I honestly think that if they get the right amount of time and both go all out that this could be a top ten Wrestlemania match of all time, yeah I said it. I'll go ahead and predict this as the show stealer and flip a coin, heads Orton wins, tails Rollins wins. Heads. RKO OUTTA NOWHERE! Sorry had to do it. Daniel Bryan wins the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match Estimated Match Rating: **** Estimated Match Time: 15 mins My Odds: 25% Bryan, 20% Ambrose, 20% Ziggler, 10% Barrett, 10% Stardust, 10% Harper, 5% Truth The IC Title is now relevant again!!!! Now if Orton/Rollins doesn't steal the show, then this match will and I hope it opens the show. It is also one I'm looking forward to because of the unpredictability to it. Daniel Bryan is the popular pick in this match and honestly probably has the best shot of walking away with the title and I hate making such manilla predictions but I think it's pretty certain that Bryan will win here. Ambrose and Dolph also have a great shot at it and Barrett is a wildcard to keep the title. I wish Harper and Stardust were legitimate contenders to win this match because I think they have tons of potential in their characters but sadly they aren't. If I had to bet money, I'd place it on the winning person's name will start with a D. Ryback wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Estimated Match Rating: **1/2 Estimated Match Time: 10 mins My Odds: 30% Ryback, Damien Mizdow 20%, 15% NXT Star, 35% The field This was fun last year so I'm glad to see it make it's return to the big stage this year. Who doesn't love a good Battle Royal honestly? This match was used as an attempt (and a sorry one at that) to put Cesaro over the top so I think we will see a budding star win it again this year. That basically leaves it to Mizdow and Ryback which are both very plausible options to win and the two front runners in my eyes. Although, I'd love to see a surprise win for Axelmania I'll go with the big guy to bring home the trophy just based on momentum. Plus Ryback still has a lot he could offer in my eyes. Ryback wins. AJ and Paige def. The Bella Twins Estimated Match Rating: *1/2 Estimated Match Time: 5-7 mins My Odds: 55/45 AJ and Paige I know about the whole #GiveDivasAChance movement is in full swing but I honestly have never, and most likely will never care that much about women's wrestling. It is not a knock on the Diva's because I know they can go if given the chance (see Paige vs. Nikki on this past Raw) to but it doesn't change much in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure this will be a pretty decent Diva's match but I will probably use it for a bathroom break and a food reload. AJ and Paige get their revenge on The Bella's by surprisingly ending up working together even after their recent tension. Pre-Show: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd def. The Uso's, New Day, and Los Matadores to retain the Tag Team Titles Estimated Match Rating: *** Estimated Match Time: 10-12 mins My Odds: 70% Cesaro & Kidd, 20% The Uso's, 5% New Day, 5% Los Matadores They did this same kind of thing last year and it was a lot of fun so I am looking forward to watching this on the Pre-Show but there is absolutely no way Cesaro and Kidd are dropping the title to any of these teams. PTP and The Ascension should have been in this instead of New Day and Los Matadores and it's pretty baffling as to why that wasn't the case but this should still be fun. I hope Kofi gets to wrestle, he's always been one of my favorites and deserves better than this. Cesaro and Kidd retain. Extras: Order of the match card in my opinion: Pre-Show: Four Way Tag Team Title Match 1. Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match 2. Andre the Giant Battle Royal 3. Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins 4. John Cena vs. Rusev 5. Bray Wyatt vs. Undertaker 6. AJ and Paige vs. The Bella Twins 7. Sting vs. Triple H 8. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns List in order from best matches to worst matches in terms of projected quality: 1. Orton vs. Rollins 2. IC Title Ladder Match 3. Sting vs. HHH 4. Reigns vs. Lesnar 5. Wyatt vs. Taker 6. Cena vs. Rusev 7. Four Way Tag Team Title Match 8. Andre Battle Royal 9. AJ and Paige vs. The Bella's List in order from matches I'm most looking forward to seeing to matches I'm least looking forward to seeing: 1. Reigns vs. Lesnar 2. Orton vs. Rollins 3. IC Title Ladder Match 4. Sting vs. HHH 5. Wyatt vs. Taker 6. Cena vs. Rusev 7. Andre Battle Royal 8. Four Way Tag Team Title Match 9. AJ and Paige vs. The Bella's List in order from matches with the best build-up to the worst build-up: 1. Orton vs. Rollins 2. Sting vs. HHH 3. Cena vs. Rusev 4. Taker vs. Wyatt 5. IC Title Ladder Match 6. Reigns vs. Lesnar 7. AJ and Paige vs. The Bella's 8. Andre Battle Royal 9. Four Way Tag Title Match All in all I think this is a very complete card from top to bottom. I mean there are basically 6 BIG matches that will take place on this card and I feel as if some people are writing this event off just because of some questionable booking lately. Sure it hasn't been the best Road to Wrestlemania but guys, it's WRESTLEMANIA! Orton/Rollins, IC Title Ladder Match, Sting/HHH, and Reigns/Lesnar will all be AWESOME in my opinion. And we get a nice powerhouse brawl between Cena/Rusev in what has been a refreshing feud for Cena and we get an Undertaker match which is always good. So I really don't see where all the hate from this card is coming from. It is a well-rounded, unpredictable card from the first match to the last match. It should be a very fun event and all I have to say is don't knock it until you try it. If you go into the event thinking you're gonna hate it then it's just gonna blind you from the quality of it. I think we're looking at a possible top 10-15 Wrestlemania of all time in terms of match quality here! |
